Overall project structure and its biomimetic inspiration

As illustrated by the graph hereunder, the project is divided into 6 scientific work packages, supported by 2 transversal work packages that are related to project management and the implementation of the dissemination plan.

This project set-up has been established following a biomimetic approach. In such a biomimetic approach, the first step is to start with an extensive litterature scrutiny, to discover the CO2 biomineralisation opportunities nature could provide. This consisted in keeping the investigation frame as large as possible to discover and then select the best candidates. Then, further in this bio-inspired view, communication and feedbacks within all teams are encouraged. This allows a continuous 'control' of the course of the project: reassessment and adaptation along the process. Finally, in the same way that life tends to optimize instead of maximize, the best candidates are selected and the different parameters of these pathways optimized.

Extensive information about the work packages and the deliverables can be found in the submenus on the left.

The white arrows indicate the communication and impact flow.
