Steering Committee
The Steering Committee will be competent for everything pertaining to the achievement of the scientific work plan, and will make all decisions regarding any change in the work plan. It will also review the progress of its implementation.The Steering Committee will validate the reports prepared by the project manager before releasing them to the EC or any other third party.
Other responsibilities are:
- Ensures that the work carried out aligns with the Grant Agreement;
- Keeps the project scope under control as emergent issues force changes to be considered;
- Validates the reports to be sent to the EC;
- Controls the quality of the overall scientific content;
- Addresses any issue which has major implications for the project;
- Ensures that strategies to address potential threats to the project’s success have been identified, budgeted and approved, and that the threats are regularly reassessed;
- Takes major decisions influencing the project as a whole;
- Takes major decisions to mitigate important alterations to the project;
- Provides support to the project manager;
- Gives guidance to the implementation of the WP & project’s issues;
- Reconciles differences in opinion and approach and resolves disputes arising from them.
The Steering Committee members consist of the project coordinator and the work package leaders. It may invite external expert having an indirect link with the project in order to benefit from their global vision and experience.
The Steering Committee will meet twice per year, with additional meetings via teleconferencing to save on travel/subsistence costs.
